At Northern Light United Church, we help each other to learn, grow in understanding and wisdom, and deepen our relationship with God and each other.
Church School is available from September to May during the Sunday worship service for preschool to 5th grade aged children. Church school is aligned with the message provided during the adult service to encourage the opportunity for family dialogue and a deepening understanding of God’s word for all ages. Children are engaged through crafts, games and music to learn about the Bible and Christian values.
High School and Middle School youth meet on Sunday evenings during the school year for interactive discussion and hands-on learning activities.
Adult Bible Study classes are ongoing from September to May to deepen spiritual understanding through discussion and exploration of books (including the Bible of course!).
The beautiful Eagle River camp is shared by all three local Methodist churches. The annual Thanksgiving potluck, Camp “Get Ready,” Bible Camp, and Camp Champ for children with incarcerated parents are co-hosted, and the camp is available for community rentals at other times.
During the spring season of Lent, a special mid-week study group is offered.
Many community forums are hosted at NLUC to explore peace and justice topics. These may include visitors from around the nation, and globe, and are open to the community.
