We had church-wide cleanup days on two Saturdays before Easter. Thanks for all the helpers! Now you can choose a task to do on your own time. You can look over this list of cleanup tasks or come up with your idea of what needs to be done. The Glory Hall Shelter and Soup Kitchen
We will be serving meals at The Glory Hall (new address: 8715 Teal St, near the airport) on the second Tuesday (Chili) and on the fourth Tuesday (Spaghetti). Geneva Woods Summer Lunch Program for 2022 has completed! Thanks to all who have supported this program. Be sure to volunteer in the summer of 2023!
Kax̱digoowú Héen Weekend Food
Weekend food preparation will begin Thursday, August 25, for this school year.
During the school year volunteers gather every Thursday at 10 a.m. to pack over 113 weekend food bags for Kax̱digoowú Héen (formerly Riverbend) elementary students who are food insecure. This is a fun and social time, proving the saying “many hands make light work.” We need to organize enough food and pack 113 food bags for delivery to Kax̱digoowú Héen each week by Thursday afternoon.

Food needs will vary and may include sandwiches, oranges, apples, cheerios, carrots.
Family Promise of Juneau
Family Promise of Juneau provides shelter to homeless or soon to be homeless families. They also run a Rapid Rehousing program providing rental assistance and case-management for households at risk for losing households. Ḵunéix̱ Hídi Northern Light United Church hosts families in the Family Promise program 4 weeks a year. There are many ways to support and be of service to families in supporting their transition to stable jobs, housing, and resources – come help set up, cook, host overnight, or lend a listening ear. Ḵunéix̱ Hídi Northern Light United Church is part of LOVE INC, a collaboration of 23 churches throughout the community that work together to support gap ministries and connect those in need to other resources available in the community. Special offerings support global ministries such as Bread for the World, and the annual youth-led Heifer Project Living Gift Market – sometimes featuring live chickens. Market booths are set up for gift shopping of “shares” of animals that are then provided to families that participate in training to care for the animals and commit to passing any offspring on to others in their community. Truly the gift that keeps on giving!
